The Detroit Concert Choir is Detroit's international award winning vocal ensemble. The choir has a worldwide reputation for choral excellence and is recognized for exceptional artistic expression and inspiring performances.
The ensemble's talented and beloved founder, Gordon Nelson, has led the Detroit Concert Choir for the past 27 years and has developed a magnificent choir dedicated to promoting choral music of high artistic merit. The choir was built upon Mr. Nelson's vision to provide our community with outstanding choral music, and has bestowed on him the title of Artistic Director Emeritus. This year the choir, under the direction of Associate Director Stan Harr, continues the choral artistry that has become the very core of the Detroit Concert Choir.
Now in its 28th season, the choir presents local audiences an outstanding collection of enlightening performances with a repertoire from around the world, including contemporary a cappella and sacred music, contemporary compositions, American folk and gospel, and great masterworks for chorus and orchestra. Please join us as we welcome a sparkling new season of musical beauty and inspiration.
